The award is for the formation of The Secretaries Roundtable, a team composed of all five secretaries at the program. The group has as its motto, “If you see it, it’s your responsibility.” The purpose of The Secretaries Roundtable is to manage the operational systems of the organization. It’s the kind of redesigning we need to do: move work down to the lowest possible level. Then give people responsibility and empowerment and the tools to do it. The Secretaries Roundtable produced tangible results like lowering printing costs and elimination of filing duplication. In the new century, all organizations will need to be redesigned. This is a great model.
