or best management practice, the South Suburban Parks and Recreation department, Centennial, Colorado, Chris Brink accepting.
To help their larger institution retain employees, the program created a retention project that focused on learning. Called "The Learning Journey," the project created classes and workshops for employees ranging from Conversational Spanish to Microsoft Office to Using a Day Planner to Humor in the Workplace. More than 350 employees took the courses, which cost $8,000. If they had taken similar courses elsewhere, it would have cost $100,000. A great management practice.
While we are here,
we'd also like to point out their great home page with a variety of ways to
search for different courses and programs, including age, location of the program,
and keyword.
